Lowless & Lowless was formed in 1898, when Norman Lowless joined his brother Ronald’s legal practice in Pembroke. Ronald’s son Owen, took over the firm in 1937, before being called up to serve in the Army during the Second World War.
Owen returned to the practice after the War, and continued to practice until his retirement in 1974. The firm grew steadily over this period, with lorwerth Phillips, Philip Davies and Huw Morgan becoming partners. In 1971 Malcolm Lowless, Owen’s son, also became a partner, along with Jack Newman.
The firm continued to prosper during the 1980’s and 1990’s, operating out of offices in Pembroke, Tenby and Pembroke Dock. Paul Cowper became a partner in 1987, with Rhian Davies joining in 1997.
Since it’s Centenary year in 1998, the firm has seen significant expansion. A new office was opened in Haverfordwest in 2000, and Luke Smith and James Subbiani were admitted as partners in 2001
This was followed in 2004 by the acquisition of the firm of Paul Settatree & Co in Haverfordwest. This firm had been established in 1979 by Paul Settatree and incorporated Eaves and Co in 1983. The then partners at Paul Settatree & Co, Rhett Gates and Patrick Mansel Lewis, joined Lowless & Lowless as Consultants together with Anne-Marie Pagett.
In September 2004, Lowless & Lowless acquired the Milford Haven Office of Walter Williams Solicitors. This was followed in April 2006 by the acquisition of the firm of Rogers-Haggar in Milford Haven. Tim Haggar and Sally Rogers joined as partner and consultant respectively. David Sangster was admitted as a partner in 2006.
The firm now has nine Partners, five Consultants and over 90 staff. We are able to offer advice to companies and private individuals across a wide range of specialisms.
